Where to I bring my bag on Saturday Morning and how do I find it later at the Wellness Village ?
All walkers who tent or have their bags transported to the Wellness Village will receive 2 tent chips. One goes on the bag, one goes around your neck. There is a letter and a number on the chips, This shows where you bring your gear on Saturday morning. Bags are dropped off at the start of the walk, Pier 84. When you get to the Wellness Village, you will look for the truck with your letter. Same thing happens on Sunday.
For example, if you are given chip K57, you will bring your bag to the truck labeled K. Then in the village, you will go to the truck with labeled K, and pick up your gear. You the proceed to the tent area and find your tent location based on the letter/number. You will go to row K and look for tent 57.
I’ve never put up a tent. Will there be help ?
100s of tent angels have been recruited to help walkers set up the tents. Look for people in the volunteer tee shirts.
How does Team Tenting Work?
- Approximately one week before Event Eve, the Teams Coordinator will send each Team Captain a confirmation e-mail with all team members’ tent assignment.
- Walkers participating in Team Tenting can either check-in together (with their teammates) or separately, and they will already have a designated tent assignment prior to Event Eve.
- Upon checking in at Event Eve, any Walker participating in Team Tenting will have their tent chip and luggage chip will already be pre-stuffed in their registration packet.
- All Teams participating in Team Tenting should have their medical forms turned in ahead of time (in urgent situations, medical forms may be processed at Event Eve.)
- You’ll also be able to turn in any outstanding or additional donations (please have a completed and correct donation coupon for each donation).

Will the team be meeting before the walk?
Karen will be in the lobby of the Sheraton Event Eve Hotel at 7:00 pm. Please stop by and say hello.
Will the team walk together on Saturday and Sunday?
We currently have 26 walkers on the team. Everyone walks at a different pace. There is no plan to walk as a large group. I suggest meeting up on Friday night to see if there is another walker or 2 who want to walk together. We had tired to get a group together last year, but it was like herding cats.
My plan is to leave the starting point promptly at 7:00 am on Saturday morning. I am going to walk a minimum of 13 miles (1/2 way point) before my first stop. If you were planning on the same thing, we can attempt to hook up.
What if I get a blister or muscle cramp and can’t walk?
Look for a sweep van/car. They are easy to spot. Lots of writing and pink streamers. Usually honking and waving at the walkers. Flag one down and they will transport you to the Wellness Village.
