Charlie is a little baby

June 17th, 2010

Charlie has started to refuse to eat his special diet food that we instituted because of his previous pancreatitis scare. I find I can get him to eat if I treat him just like a little baby who wont clean his plate in the high chair. When Charlie gets up to leave with the bowl half full, I block him and point to the bowl. I say in a somewaht stern voice -”Charlie, eat your food.” He returns to the bowl, lies down in front of it, eats a few kibbles, very begrudgingly, and then gets up again. I do the same routine all over again. Eventually, I don’t let him get up til he’s done. It takes a long time, just like with a 2-yr old human, but eventually the bowl is clean. Now he can go outside and join his sister. One thing for sure. If Ruby ever loses her appetite, I will know that she is seriously ill. Ruby will voracously eat anything that has any resemblance at all to food, and a lot of things that don’t.

The Bratty Chaddie boy is a very finicky eater. At the National, several people were raving about a supplement called ShowStopper. I bought a can while I was there and tried it. Wow! He’s eating all his food at every meal. I’ve had to cut back a little on his food quantity because I don’t want any weight issues. LOL Just 1/4 to 1/2 scoop with breakfast and dinner and Chaddie eats the entire bowl.
